# ReturnKindly

> Free, reusable lost item codes that help finders contact owners through private browser conversations.

This is the staging version of ReturnKindly.

Owners sign in with an emailed code, create codes for their belongings, and write those codes on existing tags or labels. A code can be reused after an item is returned. Finders enter the code on the homepage and send a message without an account or app. The owner receives an email and can reply in the private conversation.

Contact details are not shared automatically. Users choose what to include in messages. Finders need the same browser and its essential cookie to read replies. This is not a public lost-and-found listing or an item tracking service.

No advertising trackers, tracking pixels or analytics cookies are used. Owner email, messages, item information and security records are processed to operate the service. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Open conversations close after 30 days without activity; message content is scheduled for deletion 90 days after closure. Account, code and basic conversation records remain.
